Energy work or medicine is a series of technique that enables someone to work consciously with subtle energy (chi, life force, qi, lung, spirit) usually for the purpose of healing or relaxation. One form of energy medicine that Natalie practices is Reiki, but also other techniques from shamanism, meditation, and divination.
During a session, Natalie will work with universal life force energy to benefit the individual receiving the session. In addition to helping others, energy medicine can also teach us how to work with our energy system in a way that benefits ourselves. Reiki and other forms of energy medicine can be taught to anyone and can be administered in person or from a distance. If you are interested in learning these techniques please continue to check the “Courses & Training” page as courses will become available soon.
What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an energy healing technique supposedly originating almost 3000 years ago in the Tibetan sutras and re-discovered in Japan during the 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is an ancient form of energy healing often known as “laying on of the hands.” Reiki loosely translates to “universal life force energy” and involves the intended use of this life force energy for healing (body, mind, and spirit) and relaxation. Reiki is based on the cross-cultural belief that life force energy flows through and around us, animating our physical form which allows us to be alive. This energy is also known as chi, prana, mana, orgone, and bioenergy. Reiki has been effective in helping many physical and mental illnesses including multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer, skin problems, cuts, bruises, broken bones, pain, headaches, colds, flu, sore throat, fatigue, insomnia, sexual dysfunctions, poor memory, depression, anxiety, and many more.
Reiki can be administered either hands-on or through distance methods, both equally effective. The practitioner acts as a channel to direct Reiki into and around the client’s energy field to remove blocks and create balance within the body’s energy centers (chakras) and meridians. Reiki has its own higher intelligence and will go where it is most needed within the client. The Reiki guarantee is that while we cannot necessarily control the outcome of the healing, healing always occurs.
What does a treatment feel like?
Reiki is a completely non-invasive, gentle—yet powerful healing technique. A Reiki treatment feels different for everyone; however, there are many common sensations. Many individuals experience warmth, tingling, visualizations, and feelings of well-being, love, and peace. It is common to go to sleep during a Reiki treatment, due to deep relaxation.
